How Direct Primary Care Works
Instead of billing health insurance for each office visit, direct primary care uses a flat monthly membership to cover routine primary care services. This includes preventive care, management of chronic conditions, sick visits, and same-day or next-day appointments when available.
The membership model allows our physicians to care for a smaller patient population and spend more time with each patient. Insurance can still be used for needs outside the membership, such as hospital care and specialist services, while Palmetto Proactive manages much of your everyday primary care.
Coordinated Primary Care and Imaging
When diagnostic testing is needed, Palmetto Proactive patients can access coordinated diagnostic imaging services through our imaging center. Keeping primary care and imaging connected can make it easier to move from evaluation and testing to follow-up care.
Your physician can use those results alongside your health history, symptoms, and ongoing care plan, helping maintain continuity throughout the process.
